NCM reports extreme heat in Al Ain, with a shift to misty mornings, falling temperatures
Dubai: While today remained mostly fair across the emirates, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) reported a sizzling 50.5°C in Sweihan, Al Ain — the highest temperature recorded across the country — at 2.30pm.
As evening approaches, humidity is on the rise, especially over coastal and inland areas, setting the stage for early morning mist. Commuters and early risers are being urged to stay alert, with reduced visibility likely during peak morning hours.
Winds will stay mostly light to moderate, but could freshen at times, stirring up dust in exposed areas. At sea, conditions remain calm for now in the Oman Sea, while the Arabian Gulf is expected to turn rough westward by night.
Looking ahead, the NCM forecasts a slight dip in heat starting tomorrow, although skies will remain mostly clear to partly cloudy. The drop will be accompanied by fog or mist formation overnight into Thursday, again affecting coastal and interior regions. Winds may pick up again, blowing from the southwest to northwest at speeds of up to 40 km/h, raising the risk of blowing dust, especially in western parts of the country. Seas will be slight to moderate, becoming rough at times in the western Arabian Gulf.
The NCM announced the latest on temperatures and weather conditions in cities across the UAE. Stay safe, especially on the roads during foggy or dusty conditions.
