Dubai: The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather alert as the UAE faces another day of extreme heat, with a continued chance of rainfall through Saturday due to convective cloud formation, particularly in eastern regions.

The NCM confirmed that light rainfall was recorded in Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah from the afternoon into the early evening yesterday.

Today’s forecast calls for fair to partly cloudy skies, with a probability of convective clouds developing by afternoon, potentially bringing localized rain in eastern parts of the country.

Temperatures remain high, with internal areas expected to hit 44°C to 49°C. Coastal regions and islands will see highs between 39°C and 45°C, while mountain areas will range from 33°C to 39°C.

The highest temperature recorded yesterday was a scorching 49.8°C in Saih Al Salam, Dubai, at 1:45 p.m., according to the NCM.

Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally freshening and stirring up dust, especially during the day. Wind speeds will range between 10 and 25 km/h, reaching up to 40 km/h, moving from southeast to northwest.

Sea conditions will be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

With rain likely until Saturday and intense heat continuing, authorities advise the public to take necessary precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours.
