Dubai: The weather is in transition to becoming significantly cooler.

But before residents can start to notice any changes, weather forecasters predict foggy mornings at least until the end of the week, with high levels of humidity at night.

In a 42-second video clip posted on its official Twitter page, the National Centre for Seismology and Meteorology (NCMS) showed on Monday how areas such as Mezaira and over the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain highway were affected by the thick fog.

Weather forecasters also said that the level of humidity is expected to increase during the night and early morning over the next three days, which increase the chance of more misty conditions accompanied with northwesterly winds.

On its Twitter page, the Storm Centre revealed satellite images of the UAE’s mist formation, with the caption that read: “Mist and fog on the roads of Al Ain, Abu Dhabi and on the Dubai-Al Ain Road. Please take caution.”

In the coastal areas, the highest temperature expected for Tuesday ranges from 28-31 degrees Celsius, with a low of 16-23 degrees Celsius, accompanied with humidity levels of up to 90 per cent.

In the internal and mountainous regions, minimum temperatures are expected to reach 22 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius respectively, accompanied with northwesterly to westerly winds.

According to the NCMS, clouds are also expected to build up over the next two days as cool, fresh winds are expected to pick up by Wednesday.

Residents may also be lucky to usher in some rain before the weekend kicks off, as the NCMS said it expects rainfall on Thursday and Friday over the northern and western coast lines.
