Sharjah: Some areas in Sharjah will face water supply disruption from later this month, Gulf News has learnt.
From November 28, for six days, maintenance work at Al Liya desalination plant will lower water levels in the areas it serves.
Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) has confirmed the disruption and asked residents to stock up on water supplies.
They confirmed there will be no stop in service and water supply will not be cut off.
In a message circulated to residents, Sewa officials urged the public to store enough water and make optimum use of water until the maintenance is over.
Officials from Sewa said the water will be very weak during the six-day maintenance work.
The areas set to be affected are those supplied by the Al Liya station which include Al Khan, Al Majaz, the Corniche, Khalid Lagoon and other areas.
A Sewa official said the maintenance work was aimed at enhancing the water supply services and after the completion of the work, water supply would be better than before.
“Sewa is making all efforts to provide the best service to residents and citizens. We apologise deeply for the inconvenience and we request cooperation with Sewa,” he said
