Lack of visa is standing in the way of a couple.
Negar Khan a Norwegian citizen who had worked in many Bollywood movies and music videos is not sure when she will be reunited with her husband in India.
"I want to be with my husband. It is so difficult to see him run pillar to post to get me back to India. He came to visit me in Norway where I live with my parents. But he had to go back to India. I am not sure as yet when I would be going back to India. A Norwegian lawyer is fighting my case. She is working in close coordination with a Mumbai-based Indian lawyer," said Negar who is in Dubai for the first time.
Negar is married to Indian model-actor Saahil Khan.
The couple got married on September 21 in Mumbai, India.
Negar who rose to fame with her music video Chadtu Jawani was in news for all the wrong reasons early this year when she was ordered to leave India for working without a proper employment permit. She was deported on February 7, 2005.
She will be performing live at the Daler Mehndi show at Wonderland on Thursday.
"I have been getting a lot of film and music video offers from Indian producers and director," she said.
"In fact, I completed the Bollywood movie Double Cross Ek Dhoka the shooting of which was completed in London. It was while shooting for the film when the whole controversy of my visa status surfaced.
"I am keeping in close contact with my lawyer in Norway.
"The last time when I spoke to her she informed me that a week's time there would be some sought of development. I did not contact the Indian Embassy in Norway. I asked my lawyers to get in touch with them.
"This is because the last time when I was handed a visa by the Indian embassy in Norway I was informed that it is a working visa. Based on that assurance I went to India and started working.
"But to my utter surprise six months later the Indian authorities in Mumbai told me that the visa is a visit visa and its holder is not permitted to work."
