Two female students of the Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School in Ajman secured the first and second rank in the commerce group of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC Part-II) examination conducted by the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), Islamabad.

Nadia Siddique, who scored an impressive 872 marks out of a total of 1,100, and Fatima Gaffar, with 849, came first and second in the Commerce Group in the board examinations, which covers Pakistani schools around the world.

Hamad Khan, director of the Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School in Ajman, said: "We are very proud that our students have come top. Nadia and Fatima are very hardworking students and they deserve this honour. The credit goes to their parents as well as teachers who worked hard and imparted the best possible education."

Over 70 students from the school sat for the exam. The pass percentage in the science group was 91 and 95 in the commerce group.

In the science stream, among the girls, Mahvish Iqbal came top in the school with 893 marks, with Farah Qamar, 733, and Mahvish Maqbool, 726, in second and third place. Among boys in the science group, Mohammad Salamuddin came top in the school with 705, while Mohammad Omar and Ali Owais came second and third with 691 and 680 respectively.

For the first time, the school achieved 100 per cent results. A total of 44 students – 17 boys and 27 girls – appeared for the exam.

Sarah Noor Tariq from the pre-medical group stood first in the school with 806 marks. Nida Mushtaq from the computer science group with 724 marks stood first in her group and second in the school, while Shazia Atta with 717 came third in the school.

Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Arab Pakistani School, Abu Dhabi.

The school had a pass percentage of 89.15 with 115 students securing success out of a total of 129.

Huda Arif from the pre-medical group stood first in the school with 904 marks. Ameenah Nadir with 858 came second and Mohammad Arshad with 842 was third.

Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School, Al Ain

The school had a pass percentage of 84. Aisha Imtiaz came top in the school with 891 marks followed by Muni Begum with 859 and Aisha Mulla with 853 marks.

Amongst boys, Shehzad Eslam with 814 stood first and Saleem Khan with 746 and Syed Mazhar Ali Shah with 745 marks were in second and third place.

Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School, Sharjah.

This year the school achieved the best ever HSSC-II annual examination results with an overall pass percentage of 98. A total of 162 pupils appeared for the exam.

In the pre-medical group, Asma Chaudhry came top with 946 marks followed by Fatima Ameen with 896 and Quratulain with 891.

Amongst boys in the same group, Waseem Khan stood first with 861. Mohammad Asghar with 808 and Mohammad Sarwar with 799 came second and third.

In the pre-engineering group, Aisha Khan with 786 marks stood first while among the boys Mobeen Zahid Hussain with 882 marks came first.

In the computer science group, Sakina Abbas with 820 marks came top among the girls while Mohammad Sa'ad Ali with 826 stood first among the boys.

In the commerce group, Uzma Butt stood first among the girls with 691 marks. Mohammad Omair came first among the boys with 780. In the humanities group, Tabassum Hatim Tai came first with 701.

Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School, Fujairah

All the seven students who sat for the exam were declared successful. Sadia Akhtar who scored 694 stood first in the school. In second and third place were Sara Nasir with 691 marks and Hezbullah Shah with 636 marks.
