UAE paddlers set for Jeddah championship
The UAE Table Tennis Association have signed an agreement with the Nad Al Sheba Centre for Falcons Research and Production as sponsors for the UAE national team.
The UAE team will participate in the GCC table tennis championship in Jeddah Saudi Arabia from August 17-22.
The three UAE national teams (senior, youth under 19 and youth under 16) began their training under Hungarian coach Fiery Timar at the Al Shabab club two weeks ago in preparation for the coming tournaments.
The squad trains three days a week and will conduct an internal camp from July 12 till they leave for a camp in Hungary from July 25 to August 15.
In Hungary, the UAE seniors participate in the Arab Cup in Sanaa, Yemen from July 17-23. The UAE will field Rashid Abdul Hamid and Faisal Ahmed in the Arab Cup.
The youth national team under 16 topped in the West Asia tournament in Lebanon and qualified for the Asian Youth Finals in Hyderabad, India from September 2-7.
The senior national team will also take part in the Asian Olympics qualifier in Doha, Qatar from September 16-20.
The agreement was signed by Mohammed Hasan Al Bahr secretary general UAE table tennis association and Suhail bin Hilal Tarraf manager of the centre.
Al Bahr thanked the centre for their support towards the UAE team stating that it was the biggest support the UAE TTA had got recently.
Suhail bin Hilal said that the Nad Al Sheba centre was in favourof supporting sport and youth in the UAE as a national establishment who looks to give more care and support to the UAE national teams.
Mohammed Hasan Al Bahr also thanked Ali Saeed Al Shamssy, the UAE national team coach who played a big role in bringing the Nad Al Sheba centre forward as sponsors for the national team.

Youth under 19: Abdullah Ahmed, Faisal Ahmed, Rashid Abdul Hamid, Haytham Essam, Rashid Mohammed.
Youth under 16: Jasim Mohammed, Marwan Mansoor, Saeed Omer, Walid Ahmed, Yousuf Ahmed, Hamdan Hamad, Mohammed Khalil, Mohammed Obaid.
