UAE man arrested for setting car on fire

Fujairah: A 23-year-old Emirati man has been arrested by Dibba Fujairah Police for intentionally setting his car on fire.

Police received a report of a Mercedes Benz in flames in the Al Wurayah area on Tuesday evening at about 5.30pm, according to Lieutenant Colonel Saif Rashid Al Zahami, Director of Dibba Fujairah Police.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze after rescue teams, forensic experts and Civil Defence officials were called to the scene.

Police investigators arrested the owner, who was charged with arson and his case referred to public prosecution.

Fujairah Police urged the public to abide by UAE laws and stressed that police will not tolerate anything that threatens the country’s security.
