MoHAP, DHA share important post-return tips for Hajj pilgrims
Dubai: Health authorities in the UAE have issued a health advisory for pilgrims returning from Hajj 2025 in Saudi Arabia.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) have issued health guidance to help returning pilgrims stay safe and avoid spreading infections. The advice comes amid ongoing efforts to support public health following the annual pilgrimage.
In a social media post on rest and recovery tips for post-Hajj care, MoHAP said: “After returning from Hajj, allow yourself time to rest. If you develop symptoms like fever or cough, seek medical advice and follow preventive measures to keep yourself and others safe.”
The ministry highlighted the importance of taking precautions if symptoms such as fever or a persistent cough develop within two weeks of return.
Pilgrims are encouraged to seek medical advice promptly and follow preventive practices such as handwashing, covering their nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing and avoiding close contact with others to prevent spreading illness.
Meanwhile, DHA stressed the need for returning pilgrims to prioritise their health after the pilgrimage.
DHA urged the returning pilgrims, particularly those with chronic conditions, to visit the nearest health centre for a post-Hajj health assessment. The authority also urged pilgrims to follow any prescribed treatments, eat a balanced diet, and prioritise rest to aid recovery.
These advisories come as part of a nationwide campaign to ensure the wellbeing of citizens and residents participating in Hajj.
This year, more than 6,000 UAE pilgrims made the journey to Saudi Arabia for Hajj, with authorities deploying medical teams to support them during the rituals. The UAE also ran awareness campaigns and provided vaccination drives before departure. Officials have reiterated the importance of post-Hajj care to prevent health complications, especially considering the large crowds and high temperatures pilgrims faced during the annual pilgrimage.
