Truck hits footbridge in Ajman

Ajman: A truck carrying a crane and building materials hit a footbridge on Shaikh Zayed Road in Ajman on Sunday, according to Ajman Police.

The 27-year-old Asian driver, identified as S.A.H., tried to drive the truck with its cargo under the footbridge despite its height restriction.

Lieutenant Colonel Saif Abdullah Al Falasi, deputy director of traffic and Patrols Department at Ajman Police, said that the driver did not comply with the allowed dimension and length rules of cargo on transport vehicles.

Although no one was reported hurt in the incident, the crash damaged the bridge and caused the truck's cargo to fall on the road, obstructing traffic.
