Sharjah: A 73-year-old man succumbed to injuries sustained on Saturday evening in a run-over accident in Sharjah, a Sharjah Police official said.
According to police the Palestinian victim was hit by a speeding car while crossing from an undesignated area on Al Taawun Road in Sharjah.
A police patrol and paramedics rushed to the scene of the incident to find the victim lying on the ground. The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.
The body was moved to Al Qasimi Hospital and handed over to his family for burial.
The driver has been taken into police custody for interrogation.
