Sharjah: A 50-year-old Egyptian man succumbed to fatal injuries sustained in a run-over accident in Sharjah on Monday, an official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News.
The accident took place at around 8.38pm.
According to a police source the victim was hit by a speeding car while crossing Shaikh Humaid Bin Saqr Road.
Police patrol and paramedics rushed to the scene of the incident to found the victim laying on the ground.
The victim was transferred to Al Qasimi Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The body of the deceased was moved to the hospital morgue.
The driver who caused the accident has been taken into police custody for interrogation.
