Man dies after being hit by speeding car in Sharjah

Sharjah: An Arab man died after being knocked down by a speeding car in Sharjah’s Al Dhaid area.

The Syrian man in his fifties sustained serious injuries after he was hit by the car while attempting to cross Al Dhaid Road. He was transferred to Al Dhaid hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.

Eyewitnesses told police that the car that caused the accident didn’t stop and sped away. Police arrested the driver based on information gathered from eyewitnesses five days after the incident. The case has been referred to public prosecution.
