RTA said diversions will be in effect for 2 months to carry out rainwater drainage system
Dubai: Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced temporary traffic diversions to carry out rainwater and groundwater drainage system upgrades, along with road resurfacing, at two key underpasses.
In a social media post, the RTA confirmed that the diversion will start on June 28, for a period of 2 months to carry out the rainwater drainage system.
Works at the Mudon Underpass on Emirates Road will begin on June 28, and continue for two months. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes:
Underpass 7 (U-turn towards Jebel Ali)
Hessa Street to Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Street (towards Dubai)
Diversions will also be in place at the Al Barari Underpass. Recommended alternative routes include:
Dubai–Al Ain Bridge (U-turn towards Jebel Ali)
Global Village Underpass and Umm Suqeim Street intersection (U-turn towards Sharjah)
The RTA advises drivers to plan their routes in advance and follow posted signage to ensure smooth travel during the work period.
The RTA has also announced a temporary traffic diversion at the Umm Al Daman Underpass on Dubai–Al Ain Road starting June 28, 2025, and lasting for two months. The purpose of this work is to improve drainage for rainwater and groundwater, as well as to resurface the road.
Diversion Route:
Motorists can use Umm Nahad Bridge (Intersection 4), which provides a U-turn towards Dubai for smoother travel.
To ensure a smooth journey, motorists are advised to plan trips in advance, head out early, and avoid peak hours.
