Abu Dhabi: With the New Year’s celebrations hours away, Abu Dhabi Police have warned drivers and passengers against unsafe practices such as leaning out of car windows or sunroofs.
Violators will face a fine of Dh2,000, 23 black points, and a 60-day vehicle impoundment, the police said in a statement on their social media channels on Monday.
The practice poses significant risks to both those in the vehicle and other road users.
The police also targeted the use of party sprays and littering from vehicles while driving. Such violations carry a fine of Dh1,000 and six black points.
