Motorbike rental shop owners also urged to comply with safety regulations
Abu Dhabi: The Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police launched an awareness campaign for motorbike and desert scooter riders aimed at increase safety.
This initiative is part of the broader “Safe and Enjoyable Winter Campaign,” which seeks to enhance public safety and promote responsible riding.
The campaign, executed by the Traffic Awareness and Education Division of the directorate, was led by the Traffic Awareness and Education Branch of the Traffic and Patrols Department in Al Ain. As part of the effort, the team distributed safety gear — including helmets, reflective vests, and protective hand and leg gear — while also educating riders on the importance of using electric scooters in designated areas and following traffic safety guidelines.
Brigadier Mahmoud Yousef Al Balushi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, reaffirmed Abu Dhabi Police’s commitment to public safety through collaborative initiatives. He urged visitors to sandy areas to follow safety measures and guidelines to protect themselves and others.
Brigadier Al Balushi urged motorbike users to inspect their bikes regularly and comply with traffic laws to prevent accidents and minimise injuries.
The Community Police Affairs Section in Al Ain also highlighted the objectives of the “We Are All Police” initiative. They provided information on how to register and discussed the initiative’s strategic and humanitarian role, emphasising the importance of maintaining public security, safety, and community well-being in line with Abu Dhabi Police’s broader strategy.
The Traffic Awareness and Education team also reached out to motorbike rental shop owners, urging them to comply with safety regulations by offering protective gear such as helmets, reflective clothing, and hand and foot protectors to customers.
