Abu Dhabi: The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has completed the maintenance of municipal road network in Al Bahya A and B, and the main street to Al Shillila. The maintenance work includes rectifying the problems caused by the elevated ground water levels due to farm irrigation in the area. The increasing water level also causes cracks and fissures on the buildings and streets of the capital, said a statement.

Maintenance work which started in the first week of January completed within 10 days. It covered rectifying serious soil subside, road cracks, carrying out maintenance works on the asphalt, repairing and replacing traffic signage, painting pavements and artificial humps, and installing new traffic and directional signs.

The Municipality is currently carrying out maintenance works of pavementsat Al Bahya A and B areas; which includes repainting of pavements, and revamping the floor of the areas close to the mosque, school and commercial outlets, besides removing the disfiguration of walls and other places in the locality.

The Municipality will follow up maintenance works at the new Al Bahya area upon completing the construction of 'Perforated Pipes Network Project' intended to lower the said ground water level.

The Municipality had already finished maintenance and rehabilitation works in several municipal roads including Musaffah Industrial and Commercial Areas, Bain Al Jisrain City, Al Khailidiya, the new and old Al Shahama, Al Wathba, Khalifa A, and Bani Yas etc, said the statement.
