Dubai: Nol cards can be bought and topped up at 41 new outlets across Dubai after the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) signed agreements with three new agents.

The RTA approved City Group, Grand City Mall and Lulu International Exchange LLC as selling agents in a move described by Mohammad Yousuf Al Mudharreb, Director of Automated Fare Collection at RTA’s Corporate Technical Support Services Sector, as part of the authority’s drive to expand its services for the greater convenience of commuters.

“It is quite important to offer more selling outlets of Nol Cards in order to serve a wider segment of public transport commuters, particularly with the launch of the Dubai Metro Green Line, which has played a crucial role in integrating the mass transit systems in Dubai, thereby serving a large number of key districts and landmarks of the business sector in the Emirate,” said Al Mudharreb.

The move will mean there are now 120 private outlets across the emirate that are authorised to sell Nol cards as well as provide top-ups, which are also available from Carrefour, Redha Al Ansari, Spinneys and Waitrose.

“The agreement agents - Citi Group, Grand City Mall and Lulu Exchange – will add 41 new outlets that will sell as well as provide recharge facilities for all types of cards for a larger spectrum of the society,” he said.

Citi Group Hypermarket will open 15 recharging outlets and 12 selling outlets, Grand City Mall will open four recharging outlets while Lulu International Exchange will open 14 selling outlets.

“The new selling outlets will adhere to the same terms and conditions applicable to other selling outlets operating since the launch of the Nol card, including offering unified prices at all the new and existing outlets.”

The Nol cards can also be bought at all metro stations as well as at some bus stations. The Silver Nol cards and Red Nol tickets are also available through Ticket Vending Machines at various bus stops and metro stations.
