ABU DHABI: A slew of activities has been lined up across the city to help residents ring in the festive season. If you are wondering where to take your family to make the most of the festivities, here are five places you might want to consider:
Winter Wonderland
This annual event is back at The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, transforming it into a world of entertainment and exciting attractions. The festivities will kick off with an extravagant tree lighting ceremony at the Waterfront Promenade at 7pm on December 14.
A full schedule of live performances throughout the week includes Festive Flash Mob, Santa’s Workshop Show, Prince Drummer, Fantasia, Snow Swan and Frosted (a performance inspired by Disney’s Frozen).

Winter Festival
Head to the Town Square at Yas Mall for Christmas shopping, themed activities and snow fall. Two themed performances will be held daily from noon to 2pm and 5 to 7pm.

Let it Snow
Yas Marina has been turned into a frosty haven with a real snow zone providing snowball fighting games and other exciting activities. A festive winter market will be held on December 15 and 16 where one can find various gift options and Christmas treats.

Winterfest
The hugely popular ‘Winterfest’ returns to Ferrari World for the fifth consecutive year with loads of attractions besides its thrilling rides. One of the highlights of the season is a skating show called Fairytales on Ice by award-winning artists.

Winter Village
Shop from over 20 vendors providing the season’s best merchandise at the Winter Village in Abu Dhabi Mall. There will be themed workshops for children where they can get creative and make their own Christmas decorations. To top it all, Santa and his elves will visit the market.
