2012

November 1: Eight Emiratis, including a one-year-old, of the Al Derey tribe from Al Ain were killed in a three-car collision on the Sohar-Buraimi Road late Thursday night. Eleven others, including eight Emiratis, sustained injuries.

October 26: The 48-year-old was injured in a traffic accident in Oman. He suffered a head injury in the crash in Thumrait.

September 3, 2012: Two Sharjah-based families were involved in an accident near Adam as they were returning after a holiday in Salalah, in the south of Oman. One of the victims died on the spot while a 10-year-old was brought dead to the Nizwa Hospital.

September 1: Five people killed including an Emirati woman and her Ethiopian housemaid in a head-on collision in Qatbeit, Muqshin Wilayat, in Oman’s southern region. The accident occurred when the SUV carrying Emiratis was returning after spending holidays in Salalah.

August 26: Nine people, seven members of an Emirati family and two Omanis, were killed in a head-on collision between two vehicles in eastern Salalah near Mughsail Blowholes. The accident happened near Mughsail, Salalah, in south Oman, when a speeding truck collided with the Emirati family’s vehicle sending it hurtling into another vehicle.

August 22: Eleven people were killed, including four children, in a horrific head-on collision at Haima south of Muscat. Nine of the victims were from two Indian families and two were Omanis.

August 22: An Indian was killed when the vehicle in which he was travelling from Salalah to Muscat overturned after a tyre burst.

2011

July 15: A pleasure trip to Salalah in Oman ended in tragedy for three young Emiratis when two of them died in a car crash as they were returning home to Abu Dhabi.
