Ajman: Three Arab men were injured when the roof of their building collapsed on them while they were standing under it, said Colonel Nasser Rashid Al Ziri, Head of Media and Public Relations Department at Ajman Civil Defence.

Four cars parked under the building were also damaged during the collapse, police said.

Col. Al Ziri said the building was evacuated after authorities discovered cracks in the structure, which posed a danger to their lives.

Col. Al Ziri said, “We evacuated the residents for their safety.”

The incident was reported to police on Monday at around 10:30pm by passers by.

The injured were moved to Khalifa hospital for medical treatment and sustained simple to moderate injuries, he said.

The site, meanwhile, was handed over to the competent authorities to complete the rest of the proceedings, Col. Al Ziri said

Ajman Police said that they summoned the owner of the building.

Team from the Municipality will visit the building to conduct an examination to ensure suitability for housing.
