Abu Dhabi: Thousands of UAE residents are now using the smart inquiry platform Estafser to quickly check for travel bans, pending legal or financial cases, and other administrative issues, without needing to visit government offices in Abu Dhabi.

In the first quarter of 2025, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) received 6,292 electronic inquiries through Estafser, underscoring the platform’s value in helping users avoid unexpected disruptions at UAE border control.

Estafser (Arabic for “Ask”) is a digital legal service available 24/7 via the ADJD’s website and mobile app. The platform provides fast, secure access to personal legal status updates, including information from the Public Prosecution and other authorities.

What Estafser offers

Check for travel bans, court cases, or pending financial claims

Submit inquiries in Arabic, English, or Urdu

Get updates via SMS, email, or app notifications

Access answers directly within their online profile

Avoid the need for physical visits or paperwork

Fast responses, efficient system

The ADJD reported that 97% of inquiries answered within one working day and 99% received a response within three days

This high performance reflects the department’s strong digital infrastructure and dedication to responsive service.

Though not new, Estafser’s increasing use highlights the UAE’s progress toward smart, paperless governance. The ADJD continues to simplify services and improve transparency in line with global best practices.

Travel ban updates made easier

Last year, the UAE’s Ministry of Justice confirmed that travel bans are now lifted automatically as soon as related legal matters are resolved with no more paperwork or applications required. This update eliminates the old nine-step process and speeds up removals to within minutes.

Dubai Police offers a similar service via its app and website for bans linked to financial cases.

Federal Public Prosecution and other local departments also provide online portals for residents to check their legal status.
