Khor Fakkan: An Asian taxi driver escaped unharmed after his car rammed a money exchange branch in Khor Fakkan on Wednesday.

A police official told Gulf News that the taxi ploughed into the UAE Exchange branch in Sharjah Central Region in the morning after the driver accidentally stepped on the accelerator instead of the brakes, sending the vehicle crashing into the glass door of the office.

None of the UAE Exchange staff or customers was injured in the accident.

The driver was busy and was not concentrating at the time of the incident, police said.

Sharjah Police reminded motorists to be aware of their surroundings at all times and avoid distractions while driving.
