Souvenir kiosks report brisk sales

The DSF merchandise being retailed at the souvenir kiosks located at the Global Village, Al Seef Street, Al Rigga Street, the Night Souk, as well as the Deira City Centre and the Mercato mall have witnessed a major interest from both residents and visitors.

The merchandise available at these stalls are soft wallets, metal key chains, special pens with the DSF logo, funky watches for teens, caps emblazoned with DSF logos, T-shirts, slim mugs and unisex bags.

All of these items are competitively priced from Dh10 to Dh20.

The unisex beige colour bag with the DSF logo is the biggest seller with stocks fast depleting. These bags retail at Dh15 while the T-shirts retail at Dh20. The rest of the items are priced at Dh10.

Volunteers at the kiosks have reported major interest in the souvenirs especially from tourists who would like to take back a colourful reminder of DSF 2003.

The bags, which are bigger than backpacks and can be used for shopping, have been so popular that fresh stocks had to be ordered at the kiosks; even these are being sold out quickly.

The kiosks at the Global Village and the Mercato mall are the most popular with visitors and residents thronging these venues.

The kiosks located at the Deira City Centre and the Mercato mall are open from 10am to 11pm in the night, which those located on the two Festival streets and the Global Village open from 4 pm until 12 pm.

Double kiosks have been created at locations with major visitor traffic such as the Global Village and Al Rigga Street.
