Vehicle was being driven by her brother when it overturned

Sharjah: A 19-year-old Jordanian female student was killed on Monday night and her brother, 21, sustained moderate injuries after their vehicle overturned in Sharjah University City, police said on Tuesday.

Police said the brother was a fourth year student who was studying at the Shari’a College at Sharjah University.

The victim, identified as Asma, was a first year student at the Language Centre at Sharjah University.

According to the police report, the driver was speeding excessively when he lost control of the vehicle and hit the pavement, which caused the vehicle to overturn and land upside down on the other side of the road.

The victim was killed immediately.
