Sharjah: Eleven female students where rushed to the hospital on Monday afternoon after their school bus overturned on the ring road between Sharjah and Ajman, a police official told Gulf News.
The university students, ages between 18 and 22, sustained minor to moderate injuries and were taken to Al Qasimi Hospital in Sharjah and Khalifa Hospital in Ajman, the official said.
One was severely hurt. "The student sustained multiple fractures," the official said. "The rest of the girls suffered both moderate and minor injuries and doctors are continuing to conduct tests, including CT scans, to ensure they suffered to internal bleeding," the official said.
The Police operation room received a call about the accident around 4.20pm on Monday. The accident took place as the group were returning home from classes.
Initial investigation shows that the accident happened due to high speed and lack of attention. Police have appealed to bus drivers to follow all safety procedure.
