Last updated:

Following a study carried out by Marriage Fund along with the University of Sharjah in 2011, a number of recommendations were made aimed at reducing the rate of divorce.

They included:

— Fostering awareness between young people who are marriage bound, and offering them sessions about skills needed in daily life to lead a successful relationship.

— Reinforcing the media campaign to educate people about the seriousness of divorce and its impact on the individuals, children and families.

— Educate people on the benefits and availability of counselling for guidance. Make available guides that identify traditional family problems and how to deal with each of them.

— Coordinate efforts between the Marriage Fund and appropriate institutions to provide assistance and guidance on how to have healthy dialogues and create of harmony and agreement between couples.
