harjah: In celebration of the Ramadan, Sharjah Police have announced the allocation of 10 locations across the emirate for the iconic Iftar cannon firing.
This time-honoured tradition, which marks the end of the day’s fast, promises to enhance the festive atmosphere and bring joy to both residents and visitors during Ramadan.
The selected firing locations have been carefully chosen in collaboration with various strategic partners to ensure broad community participation.
Locations
The cannon will be fired in areas including: Al Majaz Waterfront, Muwailah Suburb Council, Al Suyoh Suburb Council, Al Rahmaniya Suburb Council, and Al Hamriya Suburb Council. These diverse locations are known for their vibrant populations and active engagement with community events, making them perfect venues for this beloved tradition.
In Sharjah’s central region, two significant landmarks — Al Dhaid Fort and Al Nuaim Mosque — will host the cannon firing. These sites are expected to attract large crowds, offering a historic backdrop for the tradition.
On the Eastern Coast, the cannon will be fired at two key locations: the Clock Tower and Al Haffa Lake in Khorfakkan, alternating throughout Ramadan. Additionally, the Khorfakkan Amphitheater and Flagpole Area in Dibba Al-Hisn will also participate, expanding the reach of this cultural event.
