Sharjah: The Sharjah Charity Association has set up 135 iftar locations and Ramadan tents across various areas of the Emirate to offer free meals.

This initiative is part of the association’s commitment to provide for those in need during Ramadan, aiming to distribute a total of 900,000 iftar meals throughout the month.

The “Iftar for Fasting People” campaign, launched by the Sharjah Charity Association, is designed to provide nutritious meals to low-income families, labourers, and other vulnerable groups.

These iftar tents and distribution points are strategically placed in high-density areas, where the need is greatest, ensuring that meals reach those who are most in need during the blessed month.

Strategic outreach

Abdullah Sultan bin Khadem, Executive Director of the Sharjah Charity Association, highlighted the significance of targeting high-density residential areas. “We have carefully selected and set up 135 iftar locations in areas with large populations of workers and low-income families. Our goal is to ensure that the meals we distribute reach the people who need them most,” he said.

The distribution of meals will take place throughout Ramadan, with the association aiming to reach the ambitious target of 900,000 meals. Achieving this requires extensive planning, and the association is collaborating closely with certified kitchens to ensure that each meal meets high health and safety standards. Specialised containers and transportation methods will maintain the meals’ quality during transit.

Commitment to health and safety

The association has worked closely with authorised kitchens to guarantee that all meals are prepared in accordance with strict hygiene and food safety protocols. Specialised tools have been implemented to transport meals while preserving their freshness and nutritional value, minimizing risks during distribution.

“We are committed to ensuring that every meal meets the highest standards of health and safety, delivered to the iftar sites in optimal condition,” said Abdullah Sultan bin Khadem, reaffirming the association’s dedication to both food quality and the well-being of the recipients.

A community-focused effort

The Sharjah Charity Association’s Ramadan initiative extends beyond food distribution—it is a part of a larger effort to promote social solidarity and reflect the humanitarian values of the holy month.

The association’s activities during Ramadan align with its broader mission of helping those who face economic challenges, particularly during this time of spiritual reflection and charity.

Bin Khadem further noted the association’s efforts in ensuring the success of this initiative. “We are working continuously to guarantee the success of this campaign and to improve the lives of our community members, especially during Ramadan,” he said.

Gratitude to volunteers and supporters

The initiative also emphasizes the vital role of community collaboration in achieving its objectives.

Bin Khadem expressed deep gratitude to the volunteers, supporters, and partners who contribute to the campaign’s success, recognizing that collective efforts are essential to reaching the most vulnerable in society.
