Residents of Industrial Area 14 in Sharjah are still suffering the consequences of rainstorms that hit the city at the beginning of the month.

Gulf News reader Mohammad Nadeem Khan said: “Due to the water, there are a lot of mosquitoes in the area that come into our homes. People are also having trouble driving because the roads are damaged.”

This plot of land, which was often used as a makeshift cricket ground by residents, cannot be used for recreation any more.

The community reporter said: “I urge the authorities to drain the water at the earliest.”
