Police arrest Asian gamblers in Abu Dhabi
Violence victim moved to hospital after being attacked with knives and sticks
Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Police have arrested two men who attacked an Asian with sticks and knives for winning Dh100 in a gambling game.
The Western Police received a call from the victim, who works as a mechanic, after being stabbed by the two escaped attackers in an industrial area near Gayathi.
After conducting investigations, the victim confessed to being involved in a gambling game, which is banned by the law.
The 30-year-old Asian is currently in a stable condition following severe injuries caused in the incident.
The police have moved the injured to the hospital.
As per the police investigations, the suspected Asian attackers were arrested shortly after the attack in their residences with all their weapons seized.
Colonel Ajil Ali Abdullah Al Junaibi, director of the Western Region Police Directorate in Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, said, “The police will severely punish offenders who commit practices contrary to the norms, traditions, and ethics of the UAE society.”
