Victory 1, Victory 7 and Spirit of Norway will continue their struggle for supremacy this weekend in Plymouth (July 19-21), in the Class 1 British Grand Prix round 3 of the UIM Class 1 World Offshore Championship.

European Champions Ali Nasser and Ali Al Qama of Victory 7 lead the title race by just 3 points from Bjorn Rune Gjelsten and Steve Curtis of Spirit of Norway.

Defending World Champions Saeed Al Tayer and Mohammed Al Marri of Victory 1 have had two podium finishes and will be looking to take their first win of the season in Plymouth.

Two new competitors will make their Class 1 debuts in Plymouth. Germany's Bernhard Bellmann will team up with Matteo Nicolini in the ECS (formerly SCM) and Kurt Prufert joins Nicola Giorgi in Roscioli Hotels.

The weekend promises a festive atmosphere with Plymouth Hoe transformed into an 'Offshore Village' comprising race boats, team and corporate hospitality, cafes, bars and a fun fair with the race broadcast live on two giant screens on the Hoe, on Sunday, July 21.

The 13 lap, 106 Nm Class 1 British Powerboat Grand Prix run on Plymouth Sound under the Hoe, looks set to produce some spectacular racing.
