PlayStation 3 arrives in Dubai
Eager shoppers queue until midnight to get their hands on PlayStation 3
Dubai: Eager gamers queued up at Mall of the Emirates until the early minutes of Thursday morning to be amongst the first to get their hands on the new Sony PlayStation 3.
Jumbo Electronics - which expects to sell around 3,500 units on the first day - opened its doors at midnight so that customers could snap up the games console.
The PlayStation 3 is available at a recommended price of Dh2,499.
As many as one million PS3 units will be made available during the initial launch period across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Australasia.
However only the more expensive 60GB version will be available in the UAE for the time being.
Purchasers of PS3 during the launch promotion will receive the James Bond movie Casino Royale on Blu-ray disc.
A line-up of over 30 game titles (each costing Dh229) for PS3 are also available.
