Dubai: The 'Ripe Market' has officially launched its seventh season at the Dubai Police Academy Park in the Umm Suqeim area.
Ripe Market is organised annually in collaboration with Dubai Police. This community initiative aligns with Dubai Police’s strategic vision, which focuses on three key pillars: community happiness, a safe city, and institutional innovation.
It aims to foster quality partnerships with the private sector and implement community initiatives that promote shared goals in social responsibility. Awareness initiatives The project is part of a broader series of community awareness initiatives by Dubai Police, designed to create innovative communication channels with the diverse communities residing in the UAE.
The goal is to spread positivity, enhance happiness and prosperity, and reflect the unity among UAE citizens, residents, and visitors.
Services and programmes
Supporting local projects Mona Al Mazrouei, Project Manager, said that the Ripe Market at Dubai Police Academy Park offers various programs and projects that enable Dubai Police to reach targeted audiences with diverse educational and awareness messages. She added: “We place great emphasis on this project as it enhances our outreach to different community groups.
The market provides various services in partnership with Ripe Market, a leader in local economic support, focusing on promoting productive families and spreading noble societal values. It also offers a platform for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to showcase their unique products in a vibrant social environment.”
Visiting hours
Every Saturday and Sunday The market serves as a lively community hub, bringing families together outdoors for various activities and entertainment until the end of May 2025.
Ripe Market invites visitors to enjoy a range of events every Saturday from 9am to 9pm and every Sunday from 9am to 7pm.
This season features an array of handcrafted items, including leather bags, handmade jewellery, unique fashion pieces, and art, alongside products from SMEs such as perfumes and handmade crafts.
Opening event
The opening event showcased luxury police patrol cars, a special appearance by mascot Officer Mansour, and several food trucks offering delicious cuisines from top chefs. The market also supports local family projects, giving visitors the opportunity to purchase distinctive products at competitive prices.
Additionally, the market places a strong emphasis on sports in collaboration with the General Department of Community Happiness. A dedicated sports program includes the family fun run, football and tennis competitions, and swimming events.
