Dubai: More than 400 individuals, including healthcare professionals and community leaders, took part in a gathering hosted by the Midland Doctors Medical Institute (MDMI) in Dubai on Sunday.

Midland Doctors, a UK-based nonprofit, was established by a group of doctors to offer assistance to the poor and the needy. The annual gala dinner, hosted by gynecologist Dr Tazyeen Faisal and her husband Faisal Nomani on behalf of the executive trustees of Midland Doctors, turned out to be an evening of inspiration, acknowledgment, and enlightenment.

The gala serves as an opportunity for trustees to share progress with donors and supporters. It highlights the yearly achievements of MDMI, offers transparency regarding the use of funds raised through contributions from donors, and exhibits the yearly advancements made in patient care.

“We are thrilled to bring together so many remarkable individuals who have devoted their lives to improving healthcare in our region,” said Dr Syed Yousuf Iftikhar, chairman of the Midland Doctors, to the audience via video message.

Midland Doctors is a collective of healthcare professionals dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the needy, and the underprivileged. With a strong commitment to excellence, compassion, and innovation, Midland Doctors continue to provide the highest quality medical care and support services to the people in Kashmir.

The event also reinforces the focus on Midland Doctors’ mission, gathering further support for the continued improvement and development of their healthcare initiatives and the expansion of charitable healthcare services at their hospital facility.

“You are supporting a unique organisation,” he said, adding: “None of the executives take a single penny from the donations that you give us.”

Plans are afoot to expand the outreach of the Child Health Programme along with renewed commitments to providing top-tier healthcare services to the underprivileged.

The evening also featured keynote speeches from Dr Sadaf Jalil, Dr Javed Raza, and Dr Asrar Rashid, with the participation of Imran Shahid from the welfare wing of the Consulate of Pakistan in Dubai.
