Dubai: Dubai Courts has notified residents about the terms and conditions for availing its free legal service through a programme called “Shoor”.

Taking to X, Dubai Courts said, “Given that many legal procedures require assistance from specialists, Dubai Courts provides free legal consultations through the ‘Shoor’ programme to enhance the quality of life within the community.”

It said the free service is available only to individuals who are “financially struggling”, and not companies.

The free advice is provided before filing a lawsuit and can be availed only once for the same issue and reason.

Dubai Courts said, “Legal advice is provided to a customer by a lawyer or legal advisor working for a law firm licensed in Dubai.”

The legal advice is provided to a customer over the phone or in person in the law firm, at the law firm’s discretion.

The advice duration will be between 30 to 60 minutes, it added.
