Ajman Police fulfils 40-year dream: Emotional reunion of Asian woman with Emirati family
Ajman Police

In a heartwarming moment that reflects the deep human values embraced by the UAE, Ajman Police made a special dream come true for Rojina, an Asian woman who wished to reunite with an Emirati family she had worked for more than 40 years ago. The emotional reunion was filled with tears of joy and beautiful memories.

The story is part of the initiative called "A Touch of Loyalty." Colonel Ghaith Khalifa Al Kaabi, Head of Al Madinah Comprehensive Police Station, shared that the story goes back to 1982, when Ms. Rojina, originally from Sri Lanka, worked as a housemaid for  Ali Abdullah Sanan Al Shehhi’s family in Ajman until 1987. After returning to her home country, the kindness and respect she received from the family remained in her heart.

In 2025, while visiting the UAE to attend her daughter’s wedding, Rojina felt a strong desire to meet the family that had once treated her with so much love. Even though more than 40 years had passed, she never gave up on finding them. She sent a heartfelt message through Ajman Police’s Instagram account, sharing her story and asking for help to reconnect.

Captain Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Head of the Investigation and Criminal Research Branch, explained that the police responded immediately to this emotional request. A dedicated police team worked carefully and professionally until they successfully located the family and reached out to them, creating one of the most touching moments of loyalty and kindness.

The reunion was organised in a warm and emotional setting at the Emirati family’s home. The family welcomed  Rojina with open arms, full of love and joy—a true reflection of Emirati values and generosity. It was a moment captured by sincere smiles and happy tears. Both the family and  Rojina expressed their deep gratitude to Ajman Police for making this special reunion possible, and they wished the police continued success in serving the community and spreading such beautiful acts of humanity.
