Dubai: Khadija, a 35-year-old Pakistani woman, who was fighting cystic fibrosis in a public hospital in Dubai and desperately needed a lung transplant, is no more.

Khadija’s younger sister Sadia, who had appealed for help in an XPRESS story published on November 2, told XPRESS, “Khadija left us on November 9.”

An inconsolable Sadia said, “I loved my sister very much. She promised me that she would recover but that was not to be.”

Khadija was admitted to the public hospital on September 23 after she developed Type II respiratory failure and acute renal failure, in addition to cystic fibrosis.
