System issued for approving new organisational structures in Dubai Government

Last updated:

Dubai: A new system for approving the organisational structure of Dubai’s governmental departments was issued yesterday by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council.

According to Resolution No. 19 of 2012, the resolution covers new or amended organisational structures in all governmental departments and sections.

Any requests for setting up the new organisational structure must be carried out in line with a newly issued legislation stipulating the setting up of a new governmental body, amending its current mandate, or alterations to its objectives or duties specified in a legislation.

Any governmental body that wishes to get its organisational structure approved must submit their request to the General Secretariat of the Executive Council.

The request must be accompanied by the legislation that was issued to set up the body, legislations that regulate its activities and duties, as well as any amendments made to its activities and duties.

As per the resolution, a permanent team for looking into organisational structures will be set up. Members of the team will be headed by a representative from General Secretariat of the Executive Council, and its members will include representatives from the Departments of Finance, Dubai Government’s Departments of Legal Affairs and Human Resources, and an employee of the General Secretariat who will act as a coordinator.

The representatives of the team will be appointed by officials from their respective bodies.

A resolution issued by the Executive Council’s Secretary General will specify the mechanism for the team’s operations and decisions.
