DUBAI A new British curriculum school will open in Dubai in September.

Hartland International, which is backed by Dubai developer Sobha Group, will be located in the heart of Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City on Al Khail Road, around 3 km from Burj Khalifa.

This is Sobha Group’s first venture in education.

“We have started enrolling students for the new academic year beginning September. The school will open with 400 students as we are offering courses till Year 6. We do, however, have the approval from KHDA to raise the school year as students pass out,” said Paul Silverwood, principal of the school.

Students graduating from Hartland International School in Dubai will also have the option to study for an International Baccalaureate Diploma, an earlier report said.

“We will have British trained teachers, some of whom have worked in international schools,” said Silverwood.

Annual fees start from Dh49,750 for the foundation year going up to Dh65,000 for Year 6.

Facilities include special art rooms, laboratories, 750-seat auditorium and a comprehensive sports facility including an eight lane 25-metre swimming pool.
