'My son may grow to be a petty thief'
Dubai: A UAE national woman who was at the Dubai Police's Human Rights Department on Saturday to lodge a case on Saturday told Gulf News she had 14 children and lived with her paternal aunt because she could not afford rent.
"I can't afford to put my daughter through university, the poor thing sits depressed at home. My eldest son I'm afraid he'll grow up to be a petty thief. He's so bitter. We live on Dh2,000 a month, my husband is a driver," she said.
"I think other UAE nationals are not aware of how we live, and what misery our children are in. They have been robbed of their futures, and live outside of society. All it takes to solve this is to treat our husbands and children on a par with nationals, so they have the same opportunities as other UAE nationals."
