Musical nite to mark Telugu film success
The stage is set for a musical nite by M. Keervani to celebrate the success of the Telugu film Simhadri starring NTR Jr (grandson of late chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and veteran actor N.T. Rama Rao) at Sharjah Stadium tonight.
The three-hour entertainment extravaganza will also feature heroines Bhumika (of Tere Naam fame) and Ankita accompanied by the film crew. Comedians Brahmanandam, Venu Madhav, Siva Reddy and Srinivasa Reddy are also scheduled to regale the audience.
Music director Keeravani comes with a troupe of 15 artistes led by pop singer Smitha. Simhadri choreographer Rajasekhar has composed dances for the event. The show is being organised by Andhra Brothers in association with Rasamayi.
At a press conference in Dubai yesterday, NTR Jr said celebrating the success of his film in Sharjah is a rare opportunity as the UAE has a sizeable Telugu community and he looked forward to holding more such events in future. S.S. Rajamouli, director of the film, commenting on the success of Simhadri said a fine storyline, teamwork and excellent performances make the impossible possible and the audience is sure to appreciate the effort.
K Ravindranath Tagore, executive producer of Maa TV of Hyderabad, which is associated with the event, said 50 mementos would be given away to the cast and crew of the film which is still running to packed houses in over 190 centres.
The programme includes skits, songs and dance and the highlight of the evening will be Singhamalai Speaking by NTR Jr, he added. When asked what 'Singhamalai Speaking' was, Tagore said it is better seen and enjoyed than explaining.
Katta Prasad of Western Union exchange said he was pleased to be associated with the event as the co-sponsor. Marmum dairy is the other co-sponsor.
