Musical event brings together dance and poetry

Dubai: A musical event bringing together Pakistan’s finest classical dance and poetry will take place on October 18 at the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre (DUCTAC).

The programme, under the title Bisaat-e-Raqs, which was inspired by a poem by the Pakistani poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz, will feature a well-known Pakistani classical dancer, Sheema Kermani, and will also have a poetry recitation segment by Adeel Hashmi. In the background, Asad Anees, a young pianist, will be playing the symphonies of Mozart and Beethoven. Part of the proceeds will go towards the completion of Sheema’s Classical Dance Institute in Karachi, Pakistan.
