The Ministry of Health is applying for ISO9001 certification for procedural compliance in departments dealing with patient care and employee satisfaction.
"The project aims to facilitate and document procedures at the Ministry of Health. The ISO 9001 will be the starting point to ensure continued quality service at the ministry," said Dr Abdel Ghaffar Abdel Ghaffour, the ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Curative Medicine.
Questionnaires will be presented to patients in hospitals, laboratories, at in-patient and out-patient clinics, emergency units and X-ray departments to find out customer service satisfaction.
Employees will also be given questionnaires to assess employee satisfaction. Each department will be given a questionnaire to evaluate procedures and policies there.
