Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, yesterday met with Dr. Shams Qasim Laka, president of Agha Khan University in Pakistan.

They exchanged views on ways of strengthening cooperation between the UAE higher education institutions and the Agha Khan University.
Laka said that the UAE achieved a high level of progress in higher education and that the Agha Khan University was interested in enhancing cooperation with its counterparts in the UAE, noting that his university had relations with the UAE university for eight years.
He said that he would be back to the UAE at the head of a team of academics in order to discuss further coperation with the UAE University and the Higher Colleges of Technology. Present at the meeting was Pakistani Ambassador Salimullah.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Nahyan met with Abdel Hamied Bouzaher, Algerian ambassador, and discussed with him cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education, particularly the accreditation of certificates and the exchange of teachers and experts.
Bouzaher also delivered a letter to Sheikh Nahyan from Algerian Higher Education Minister Dr. Omar Sakhri.
Sakhri extended an invitation to Sheikh Nahyan to visit Algeria, which Sheikh Nahyan accepted to make in a date to be determined later.
