Abu Dhabi: The National Media Council (NMC) and the Sharjah Media Centre (SMC) discussed various avenues of cooperation and the exchange of expertise and information for the furtherance of the national media sector as a whole.
The two bodies also discussed the implementation of a previously-signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) to realise plans for a well-developed and vibrant media sector.
The discussions took place during a visit by Shaikh Sultan Bin Ahmad Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Centre to NMC.
Ebrahim Al Abed, director general of NMC, emphasised the Council’s preparedness, under directives from Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Council, to provide all support to the Sharjah Media Centre’s mission.
Shaikh Sultan expressed appreciation for the efforts by Shaikh Abdullah and the NMC to coordinate all national media organisations to enhance the UAE’s standing on the world stage and promote its achievements.
