Mark Waugh, one of Australia's finest batsman will be conducting a clinic in Dubai during September.

Waugh has played in 244 One-day Internationals to amass 8500 runs. Sherriff International Management (SIM) is organising Waugh's visit to Dubai.

Waugh, the twin brother of Australian skipper Steve Waugh, will be available for budding cricketers here on September 16 and 17.

The clinic is being organised by SIM in association with the Dubai Cricket Council.

The SIM, which is a sports management and event organising firm, had hogged the limelight last November when they set up the Dubai Tennis Academy at the American University in Dubai.

Waugh will guide players through core skills areas with a focus on allround technical skills and provide physical conditioning tips as well as talk about the importance of team building. The clinic will accommodate a maximum of 125 players daily and the ticket will be priced at Dhs 220 per day.

All participants will receive an autographed Mark Waugh clinic T-shirt, certificate and a signed photographs with him. Waugh will also attend a gala dinner at the Emirates Tower Hotel on September 18.

According to the organisers Waugh will speak on his experiences, trials, tribulations and glory of the sport during the dinner.

He will also talk about the motivating factors leading to his as well as his brother's success.

The dinner is priced at Dh 250 per person and an auction of cricket memorabilia with a grand prize of two tickets to Australia to watch a Test match will be held during the function. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the charity.

The organisers are expecting the event to create a buzz among the cricket loving population here. The clinic, in particular, will be of interest to people of all age groups and the UAE cricket team members.
