Strong favourites Mansour Jewellers churned out another dominating display to enter the semifinals of the Abu Dhabi Health and Fitness Club's first Ramadan beach football tournament here on Monday night.

The the final score read 7-6 in favour of Mansour Jewellers against Al Ain Golden Sands, the former were much superior and fully deserved their place in the last four.

However, a hat-trick by Moosa Ayub went in vain for the Al Ain side with Faiz bin Ahmed's four-goal effort proving more useful to Mansour.

After Salem Mohammed gave Mansour the lead Faiz scored his first to give make it 2-0. Before close of the first period in the three-period game, Moosa netted to reduce the margin.
Faiz made it 3-1 for Mansour, but Moosa kept Al Ain within striking distance with his second goal. Even as the match turned exciting in this period, it was Mansour again as Yousef bin Ahmed and Faiz scored to make it 5-3.

With a large section of rival supporters rooting for their respective sides, Moosa soon completed his hat-trick, but Salem got one more to make it 6-3 at the end of the second period.
In the final period, Faiz scored early to make it 7-3 but after that there was a lot of goalmouth action.

While Yunus Ali of Al Ain came up with a superb display to save every shot directed at him, his own side managed to score thrice. Eisa Baksh scored two while Nasr Juma squeezed one in between, but Al Ain's late rally fell short.

Al Khazna in last four


Earlier, in another match Al Khazna scored a 5-4 win over ADNOC to also make the last four stage. Mohammed Salem of ADNOC was named MVP for this game while Moosa Ayub of Al Ain Golden Sands earned the accolade for the other match.The tournament, being held under the patronage of Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is played at the Al Raha Beach area.

Dubai. P.C. Siolim (Energizer) beat A.V.C. via tie-breaker (6-5) to book a place in the final, to be held on Friday, of Goan Inter-village football tournament for John Lobo Memorial Cup held at Iranian Sports Club stadium.

Although both teams had equal chances to emerge victorious, their forwards lacked finishing touches. Michael Fernandes, the custodian of AVC was impressive.
F.C. Siolim (Energizer) will meet the winners of second semifinals between Chandor and Colva.
