Man killed as car overturns in Sharjah

The 28-year-old lost control over his vehicle before the car overturned on Maliha Road

Sharjah: An Emirati man died on Tuesday morning after he lost control over his vehicle which overturned on Maliha Road in Sharjah.

Lt-Colonel Mohammad Alai Al Naqbi, director of Sharjah Police’s Traffic and Patrols Department, said the 28-year-old victim was coming from Al Dhaid when he lost control, causing the car to overturn. The driver was not wearing the seat belt.

The police received a call around 8.30am reporting the incident.

The victim was driving at high speed when the car veered suddenly and overturned and settled in the opposite direction of the road.

The victim did not use seat belt which led to his immediate death while a passenger survived the accident, Lt-Col Al Naqbi said.

Sharjah Police urged motorists to abide by the traffic rules for their safety and avoid such tragic accidents.
