Man burns to death in Ras Al Khaimah

The 58-year-old victim was alone in the house when the fire broke out

Ras Al Khaimah: An Indian electrician burned to death on Wednesday when a fire broke out in his house in Al Muaireed.

The 58-year-old victim Rama Bhadran was alone in the house when the fire broke out, while his elder brother who shared the residence with him was at the fish market to buy a meal for both of them.

Colonel Mohammad Abdullah Al Zaabi, who heads the RAK Civil Defence Department said that the fire was reported to his department from the Police Operation Room and they attended the scene.

He added that upon arrival at the scene, they found that the fire had gutted the victim’s bedroom where he had been.

Colonel Al Zaabi said that the fire fighters broke into the house from the roof to retrieve the man.

Fire fighters then handled the fire that was put under control. The rooms of the house that the two Indian brothers rented from an Emirati, were completely burned.

Colonel Al Zaabi said that the fire fighters have not been able to identify the causes of the fire and handed their report the emirate’s Police which sealed the house and have launched an intensive investigation.

Neighbours and friends to the victim said that they saw the victim only few moments before heavy smoke came out of his house.

Neighbours rushed to the house to try and help, but could not see anything due to the heavy black smoke.
